Hi Guys,
This post is a little different but I promise it will make sense.
As you may or may not have realised, I have decided to change my logo. This post will break down the reasoning behind my change and the meaning behind different elements of my new logo.
Old Vs New
A few months back before I was Adina’s Universe, I was Adina Haughton (hence the AH in my original logo). Unfortunately my creativity is limited when it comes to photoshop, illustrator or anything to do with design (I’m working on it), therefore when creating any type of visual content, I switch between Canva and Spark Post, both great free tools that are beyond simple and easy to use. For this specific design I used Canva.
When I made the name change to Adina’s universe, I was still using my old logo ( I think I actually still have that up *runs to change it*). As you can see my old logo was pretty simple, and it does what it needs to do, so there isn’t much to explain here.
The main reason to why I changed my logo was down to boredom. After trying out different themes & playing around with templates, the only thing left to change was my logo… so I did.
New logo
My new logo is based around the Universe, which I guess you can say fits in with the name of this blog ‘Adina’s Universe’. Recently I’ve been fascinated with Astrophysics & everything to do with the cosmos, so I wanted to try and incorporate this somewhere in order for my readers to get a feel of who I am.
The “AU” stands for my blog name, of course & is placed in front on the ‘earth’ to represent me taking over the world mwhahaha.
Only joking.
It is used to imply that although we as humans think ourselves to hold a significant importance in this world, we actually play an infinitesimal role in relation to the size of the universe (hopefully this makes sense).
In regards to the 7 in the top left hand corner above the “AU”, I wanted to replicate the basic layout of the periodic table, again linking science into the image. I decided to use the number 7, as not only is it my favourite number but it is also has a spiritual significance, which then ties religion into the image also.
I think I’ve pretty much explained all of the elements in my new logo, I hope this has explained a little more about me in the process 🙂
