Tunes on a Tuesday 09: Turning Page

Welcome back guys!

This week I haven’t really found any new music that I like enough to post, so I thought it would be best to throw it back, and dedicate this Tuesday’s tune to Turning Page by sleeping at last.

Turning page was featured in Breaking Dawn part 1 (the 4th instalment of the Twilight Saga). It was one of the most memorable tracks from the film, due to the fact that it was used to walk Bella (the protagonist) down the aisle. Naturally 15 year old, Twilight obsessed me, decided that I too would one day walk down the aisle to that song & have my wedding on August 13th, the same day as Edward & Bella. A little overboard I know, but we will wait and see.

” I’ve waited 100 years, and I’d wait a million more for you”

The first line of Turning Page beautifully captures the essence and emotion that is carried throughout the remainder of the song. This song is most definitely the reason to why I am constantly in my feelings. Even at such a young age I loved the idea of love & lived vicariously through music like this . Although I wouldn’t label myself as a romantic, one day I hope I will actually be able to listen back to this song and feel for myself just what Sleeping at last were singing about, and who knows, I may even walk down the aisle to it 😋

Tunes on a Tuesday 08: Je t’adore/OMW

Hey everyone, I’m back again with the 8th segment of Tunes on a Tuesday! Honestly, I can’t believe it’s been 8 weeks already, time surely does fly.

This weeks post goes to Sylo Nozra, an R’n’B vocalist/producer from Toronto. Sylo released not one but two tracks just in time for summer. The light, airy production is very similar to that of Lolo Zouaï’s Brooklyn Love, which was my chosen track for the 5th week of this segment.

Lately there have been so many new artists emerging from Toronto or should I say Canada as a whole. It is so refreshing to hear a variety of new sounds from a place which wasn’t previously that well known for music.

Check out Je t’adore & omw by Sylo Nozra below.

Tunes on a Tuesday 07: Taste

Welcome back to Tunes on a Tuesday!

As you may or may not have noticed, I didnt post last week 😦 but I’m back and (hopefully) better.

The track I’ve chosen this week is ‘Taste’ by Tyga.
Now if you know me, then you know I am not the biggest fan of Tyga. The last project I actually listened to by him was that fan of a fan joint mixtape with Chris Brown which I absolutely loved.

I’m not too sure if this song (taste) warrants me to say that Tyga is back, however I am looking forward to hearing what else he has in store.

What I can say is that this song is most definitely a vibe & will be put on repeat until I’m sick of it.

Tunes on a Tuesday 06: Pa Mi

It’s summer! Which means it’s only right that I stray away from the chilled music I’ve been posting & look towards songs that actually match the weather.

The track I’ve chosen for today’s segment of ‘Tunes on a Tuesday’, is Pa Mi by Tory Lanez.

This song is literally perfect for the summer. The first time I heard it I could just imagine myself cruising down the streets of Miami with a Frappuccino in hand. I despise Frappuccino’s and I’ve never been to Miami but you get the picture.

Check it out below & let me know if Pa Mi is making it onto your summer playlist.

Tunes on a Tuesday 05: Brooklyn Love

This weeks Tunes on a Tuesday post goes to Brooklyn Love by Lolo Zouaï.

The 22 year old French-American rose to popularity through soundcloud and has since then quit her waitressing job, to get to grips with her new found fame.

Lolo’s music is influenced by none other than the late Aaliyah Haughton. In her song ‘blue’ she even goes so far as to mention having the late singer’s poster on her wall.

I’m really fascinated with the light, airy, yet slightly electronic feel ‘Brooklyn Love’ gives off.

Lolo is yet to prove her longevity but I’m excited to see what’s yet to come
