Life is difficult.
It doesn’t come with an instruction manual, I mean if it did then it would be a breeze right?
Instead, we are thrown into the deep end, expected to navigate through our trials and tribulations without the blink of an eye.
Someone once told me that living is as easy as breathing.
But sometimes I find it difficult to breathe.
To some, the deep end isn’t that deep. But i’m drowning and the only one who can save me is me.
Hi Guys, I know that this is very different to the stuff I usually post. I’ve been feeling really down & demotivated as of late so I decided to just sit here and write whatever comes to mind.

Someone please tell me why it took me so long to understand the necessity of a good podcast.
Honestly, since the beginning of this year, I’ve been listening (or at least trying to listen) to a number of podcasts whilst, driving, doing work, taking a bath etc… And I think I’ve finally managed to find a few that I like!!
So below is a small list of the podcasts I’m loving right now. Let me know in the comments if you’ve had the pleasure of listening to any that’s made it onto the list, or if you have any recommendations 🙂
It’s still early days as only 4 episodes have been released so far. However, Sunday Gems hosted by Kehlani & Reyna Biddy, has to be one of my all time favourite podcasts, purely because of it’s relatablity. Tackling the theme of depression in the first episode just goes to show that nothing is off limits for the pair. In addition to the podcast, we are also presented with curated playlists which closely follow the subject matter; alongside a shoutout to local black owned businesses and a Gem of the week giving reference to it’s healing properties and uses.
I first came across Kristina whilst looking for and eventually ordering a planner from her store: Kikki.K (which by the way sell the most amazing stationary ever). The podcast is based upon dreaming and how you can create the life you’ve always wanted for yourself. Kristina sits down with some of the most inspirational people who have all gone onto achieve great things, which at first otherwise seemed impossible.
If you love Astrophysics then this is the podcast for you. The first episode dates back to 2009 and has since then gone on to birth 2 spin off shows: StarTalk All-Stars & Playing with science. This podcast has somewhat of a comedic undertone, which is quite refreshing to listen to. A number of celebrity guests are invited on as co-hosts to discuss all things relating to the universe and science.

Spending Valentine’s day alone is nothing to be embarrassed about. This day, heavily commodified not to mention cheesy, in no way needs to be celebrated with a significant other. It’s a day used to celebrate love in all of its forms.

With the steep the rise in the usage of technology and social media, taking breaks from our electronic devices is extremely important. Picking up a tangible book (if you like reading) is a great way to filter out all the noise from the outside world. Only 6 minutes of reading a day can reduce stress by up to 68%.

- Write down some affirmations
Affirmations are basically your way of talking to yourself as you would talk to your best friend. It is the core (in my opinion) of self-love, empowerment & positivity. Take the day to write down some positive affirmations on post-it notes & stick them up where you can see them. This can then become somewhat of a daily routine
Goodnight or would good morning be more appropriate? It’s 12:30am… way past my bedtime of 11, but there are just a few things I wanted to share and get off my chest.
Recently I haven’t been posting as much as I used to, and certainly not as much as I would like to. The blame can be placed on a lot of things such as; Jet lag, having a full-time job, etc…
The truth is, my mind is literally being stretched in so many different directions. So much so, that I am struggling to even put pen to paper. I feel as though nothing I think of writing is ever good enough, or worthy enough to share. Honestly, my drafts on here are a mess, so many unfinished blog posts that I do not have the motivation or heart to continue.
A few weeks ago I travelled to Canada & had so many ideas for different blog posts & vlogs surrounding my trip. None of which actually materialised. I have a few segments of footage floating around in my hard drive but whenever I conjure up the courage to edit, I feel as though I come across as boring on camera, I pick out features on my face that I wish I could change.
I tweeted my frustration earlier & this is a response I received from a lovely fellow blogger.
Her response really put things into perspective, there’s no need for me to be stressed or have feelings of guilt for not posting in a while. This is supposed to be a fun hobby, so why am I feeling strained?
I guess I just wanted to share this just in case anyone out there is going through the same thing as me. Take that well deserved break & come back once you have realigned yourself with the universe & what you stand for x
